I remember alot of my Kinderfreinds loved colored pencils......who doesn't...right! So I am sending you the link that includes the color page but you could always just color on a blank page if you can't print the color page out. This is just for fun and if time and interest permits.

Superkid's Reading
Hello Friends! I hope you enjoyed the story about Frits and his frog in the video above.. I love those Superkids!
Try to read Frits Had A Frog with your parent this morning by turning down the volume on the video..
Our little froglet "Lilly" has changed from a froglet to a frog. Her tail is gone now and she now has 4 legs and is a frog! When she is a little bigger she will go into the "Big Tank" with her frog friends. I can't wait for you to meet her. She listened to the Frit's story with us today.
Today we will start our letter Z Unit. I can't believe we have made it all the way through the Alphabet and learned all the sounds and now you are reading so well with your sounds and strategies for reading.
You will review all of the Superkid's with the letter Z song animation (link is below, or you can go to Superkids online fun to find it) and then do page 15 and 16 in your workbook.. Use your best writing to complete your Handwriting on page 16. Use your good writing skills to complete your "shadow sentence" on page 16.
Below is a link to the Superkid's Letter Z animated song:

Science
There is a Let's Find Out Magazine about Earth Day that would be a good activity for our work with recycling and taking care of our Earth. If you have time go back to Scholastic Let's Find Out Webpage again today and in the April Magazine series look for a magazine titled
Don't Be a Litter-bug! This magazine is a Rebus Reader. That means there is alot of pictures in the reading and which makes it easier to read. We have used Rebus readers in Superkids so review that with the children and then read the magazine together. There are some fun activities and a fun video and game your Kinder can explore on this Scholastic Let's Find Our SIte. .

Superkid's Writing Today
Review with children what the Superkids made out of the boxes in the story. (table for a snack, plant box, tent, pretend jet) Have children discuss what they like about the different fixed-up boxes and what they would do with each one. Tell children you would like them to write their opinion about which of the Superkids’ fixed-up boxes is the best. Explain that an opinion is a person’s own thoughts or feelings about something and an opinion is not right or wrong. Have children write two or more sentences saying which fixed-up box they like best and why. They can also draw a picture showing what they’d do with their favorite fixed-up box. Review children’s work with them individually, giving them guidance in adding to their picture or sentences and rewriting their sentences as needed to correct spelling and punctuation. Then give children an opportunity to share their opinions about which box they think is the best.
Lasting Lessons Reusing and Recycling
Remind children that the Superkids had fun reusing old boxes. Explain that by reusing things we send less garbage to our landfills— areas of land where garbage is buried. Point out that we only have so much room on our planet for garbage. Discuss with children what it would be like if we ran out of places to bury garbage. Tell children that we must all do our part to keep our planet a clean and healthy place to live. Have children discuss how they can make less garbage by reusing old items for new purposes—for example, they can reuse old shoeboxes to hold collections, reuse newspaper to line pet cages, and reuse paper bags and old gift wrapping for art projects. Point out that they can also send some unwanted things to be recycled. Remind them that recycling turns things back into materials that can be used again and again.
Listen to the SuperSmart story about Recycling called Trash or Treasure. This SuperSmart Story has always been a favorite of the Kinderfriends.
Math
In Math lets keep working through Chapter 6 so we can move on to Time next week. Today we are on Lesson 5 called How Many are Left. Please work through pages 409-414. I have added some Subtraction games to my resource page if you want more games and Hands on Activities after your pages are completed.
Homework Pass
You may have heard from Mrs. Pendleton that since you have been working so hard we are giving you a free Homework Pass this week. You may use it anytime and opt out of an assignment. Just have your mom or dad let me know which subject you have chosen to skip with your Homework Pass.

New Friendzy Lessons
For writing time today and tomorrow I thought it might be fun for the kids to write a letter to someone they love and are grateful to have in their life.. If you agree click on and download the Friendzy Snail Mail Template in the Green Friendzy Button below and write an encouraging letter to a friend or family member. If you don’t have stamps, you can take a photo of your letter and email or text it. If you don’t have an envelope, you can fold your paper into thirds, tape the edge, address it and put a stamp on it. Writing a letter helps us take a moment to slow down and dedicate time and thoughtfulness towards someone we appreciate and care about. Don’t forget the stamp!
Superkid's Reading
Today we will re-read and check for understand of the story
The Big Box Fix-Up that we read yesterday.
Have children re-read the story from yesterday The Big Box FIx Up and follow directions for marking the story. Tell children to turn to the beginning of the story “The Big Box Fix Up” on page 6.
Explain that they will listen to directions for what to mark on the pages correctly as you read together
. Page 6: Underline the word TV Page 7: Line underline “‘I put sand and mud in it,’ said Frits.”
Pages 8–9: Circle around the pictures of Doc and Sal Page 10: X on the picture of Oswald
Page 12: Line from “Alf camps in his tent.” to picture of Alf; X on the plant box
Page 13: Line from “Doc sits in the jet.” to picture of Doc; circle around the picture of the muffins.
Next, Tell children to turn to page 14 and look at the pictures of the fixed-up boxes from the story. Explain that some of the sentences on the page tell about the story and some do not. Point to the pair of sentences on the left side of the picture in the first row and read them aloud. Ask which sentence tells about the gift box shown in the picture. (The gift box is for a picnic.) Tell children to circle the sentence to show it is correct. Repeat with the pair of sentences on the right side of the picture. Then have children read the remaining pairs of sentences to themselves and circle the one in each pair that tells about the picture from the story. To review, call on children to read aloud the sentences they circled. Have the children tell whether the correct sentence in each pair is the top or bottom sentence.
Math
In Math keep working through Chapter 6 on Subtraction. Today and tomorrow work through Lesson 4 which is about using the = Symbol to write equations. Try to work through pages 403-408. by next week.. Math games are on the resource page if the kids want more math enrichment when there pages are completed.
Have a Happy Day

Let's Celebrate Earth Day
For our Science Lesson Today
Today we wanted to celebrate Earth Day in Kindergarten. If we were at school we would have planted some seeds in our outdoor classroom:
Here is Mrs. Renner with a lesson in our Outdoor Classroom today Thank You Mrs. Renner.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTCHnccJa2s
Maybe you too could plant some seeds in your home garden or in a flower pot to make the world a better place.
Stories for Earth Day
Writing Time
Write a story telling about what you will do for Earth Day. Will you plant a seed, help your family recycle, turn the lights out when you leave a room to conserve energy. Write a few lines and draw a picture about Earth Day.
Superkid's Reading
Today you will help the children read The Big Box Fix Up,
Review the following Memory Words and decodable words from the story..
Memory Words: you said like put
Decodable Words: box boxes sandbox blanket windmill
You might even write these words out for them to see and focus on before reading.
Tell children that these words are in the story “The Big Box Fix Up.” Point out that they should remember the Memory Words and You is the new memory word for this story. The decodable words they will "stretch" to decode. You might also take some time to "picture walk" the story. The children know this term and it means to look through the pictures in the story before reading to see what is going to happen in the story and put the new decodable words into context of the story. After you"picture walk" you are now ready to real read the story.
You can "echo" read this story with your child if they would like. Echo Reading is when you read a sentence and then they read the same sentence back to you. We did this alot in Superkid Reading Time.. You may want to read the story more than once for comprehension purposes. Ask questions while reading to check for understanding.
Religion
There is a small booklet in your Religion pages that is a foldable 1 page booklet called We Celebrate New Life. Fold and make the booklet and read with your Kinder. Pointing out all the new life we are seeing in nature right now at the Easter Season and how it points to our new life in Christ.. Even our new froglet Lily is a sign of new life that we studied about in our science lesson yesterday..
Also find page 239-240 which is right behind the small booklet in your Religion papers. Sing or say the Prayer together called Sing a New Song on Page 239 and then on 240 trace the words and have your child draw their favorite sign of new life.
