. When you are finished with your math pages look below for a new game called Fluency Find IT. Both games are to increase Fluency in subtraction
The first game use -1 -2 -3
The second game uses -3 -4 -5
It is your choice which game to play.

Begin todays lesson by listening to the letter Z song in the link above. Then
Have children turn to page 17 and look at the pink word in Sal’s speech balloon. Tell them the word was—a new Memory Word for them to remember. Have them repeat was and spell was aloud (w-a-s)Read Sal’s words aloud together. Ask children how they know Sal is asking a question. (The sentence ends in a question mark.) I call these question sentences and we try to raise our voice when reading them so they sound like a "question voice".
. Child traces and writes the Memory Word Was to complete each question. Then child reads each question and circles no, yes, yes, no, no. Read Sal’s words aloud together. Ask children how they know Sal is asking a question. (The sentence ends in a question mark.)Have children trace and write the Memory Word Was. Tell children to look at the first sentence under Sal’s speech balloon. Have them trace the blue letters on the line to write the word Was. For the remaining sentences, have children trace or write Was on the lines. Remind them to begin with a capital W because Was is the first word in each sentence.
